Web portal Etika.ba received the following denial: “Request for correction of expression”, received from the court expert in the criminal case “Tower”, Senad Pesto, doc. PhD

REQUEST FOR CORRECTION OF EXPRESSION
On 17 December 2020, you published an article on the internet portal Etika.ba, titled: Sarajevo Tower: New Doubts, Court Expert and Judge?”
This article contains information and speculations insulting the professional integrity and damaging the image of Senad Pesta, doc. PhD, whose name you published in the article.
Besides full name and surname, you published the Findings and opinions whichSenad Pesto, doc. PhD, made following the order to provide expert opinion, issued by the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, which is the information which should not be available to public in such a manner.
At the same time, the article contains false and damaging statements:
– that Dr Senad Pesto, while working as court expert in medicine, acted illegally and unethically,
– that he had not proclaimed that he believed he was damaged by the act of crime,
– that he was in conflict of interest,
– that he was a contractual buyer of a flat and garage at the Sarajevo Tower and
– that he is in personal conflict with the indicted person.
In compliance with the provisions of the Law on expert witnesses of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the obligation to keep a professional secret, Senad Pesto, doc. PhD submits herewith the request to the portal Etika.ba to immediately correct the said false and damaging statements.
Senad Pesto,doc. PhD does all the expert tasks entrusted to him independently and on his own, adhering to the rules of profession, law, other regulations and international standards. He does not believe that he had been damaged by any crime, nor is he in personal conflict with any party indicted in the procedures given to him for expert evaluation. In doing the expert tasks, he has never been in conflict of interest and he specifically emphasises that it is a totally false information that he was a contractual buyer of a flat and garage in the Sarajevo Tower structure.
If the text author and editor acted in line with the professional standards, they should have sought for this information from Senad Pesto, doc. PhDThey failed to do so.
Senad Pesto, doc. PhD, pursuant to the Article 8 of the BiH Libel Law submits his request to the portal Etika.ba to publish this text in full and to keep it on the web page for the same duration and in the same position as of the disputed article.
